Adaptations

  • A film version was announced as in development with Sony Pictures in 2006[4], with Sam Raimi attached to direct, but Terry hated the screenplay (written by Pamela Pettler of The Corpse Bride fame) and called it off. (In Terry Pratchett: A Life With Footnotes, Rob Wilkins reports that his two word response to the studio was “It’s shit.”)
  • The Illustrated Wee Free Men was published in 2008, with illustrations by Stephen Player. It contains some additional jokes and other material written by Pratchett and incorporated into the illustrations. Stephen Player says that the book doesn't faithfully reproduce the colours of his original paintings, and includes versions of them on his website.
  • Rhianna Pratchett wrote a screenplay for a film version which she presented to Terry on his birthday, probably in 2014. This seems to have been the basis for the version announced by Narrativia in 2016, this time with the Jim Henson Company. It remains unproduced.
