The Industrial Revolution books are a fan-categorisation of a subset of the Discworld series, including those which highlight the advancement of technology and society in Ankh-Morpork under the rule of the Patrician. Some fans instead refer to the “Ankh-Morpork series”, which is a little broader and includes some books not included below. The most recent Penguin editions of the novels categorise the books into non-overlapping series, and use the term “Industrial Revolution” to refer exclusively to the three books starring Moist von Lipwig.

The short story “Troll Bridge” has some similar themes about the advancement of the Discworld in general; this is also true of many of the later books, especially in the Watch and Wizards series.
