Publisher Description

“Teaching my cat to read” is a podcast about books, and all bookish related topics. During the lockdowns of 2020, we wanted to read more books, and discuss them with each other at our own virtual book club. Every time we had a call, we would be joined by our cat, as if she wanted to learn to read! This interruption would always result in hilarious bookish conversations, so we decided to document our chats with a podcast! Join us, as we navigate both classic and modern literature, discussing (very important) topics such as: “which character would win in a fight”, “which is the best adaptation of this book”, and “what rating would the cat give this book?”. New episodes released every other week.

Further Information

Format

  • The podcast describes itself as "very serious", quotation marks and all, and so is very silly and fun.
  • Most episodes focus on a single book, but some longer books get two episodes, and there's the occasional episode about a general book topic as well.
  • As well as Terry Pratchett, authors featured more than once include Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman, Arthur Conan-Doyle, Garth Nix, Naomi Novik and Brandon Sanderson.
